Do Not Forget

Romans 8:15-16 “The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.”

When I think of the President of the United States of America, the most powerful position of the world, many of these presidents have had children. I can only imagine that when his child came to him in need, he would stop to hear them and take care of that child’s need. He is the President, he is powerful, he is busy, but that is his child. They are loved, he values them, he protects and provides for them. They do not live in fear, but in confidence that their father has the desire, authority, and power to help them.

I tend to forget who I am or to Whom I belong. I am, we are, a child of Almighty God, heir of God, co-heir with Christ. We have complete access to the One who defeated death, gives life, and sustains all life. Let us remember to live strong and courageous, not in fear, do not tremble. If God is for us, who can stand against us? He has the desire, authority, and power.

Thank you, Christ Jesus, for willingly making the sacrifice that we might live free: Free from fear, free from temptation, free from death.

Romans 8:38-39 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 Peter 5:6-7 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Psalm 118:6 The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?

Jesus, thank you for making the way for us to have total access to The Father, our Father. We can share with you as heir and live boldly, with courage and confidence in the One who loves us and gives life now and forevermore
