Psalm 104

Praise the Lord, my soul.

Lord my God, you are very great; you are clothed with splendor and majesty. The Lord wraps himself in light as with a garment; he stretches out the heavens like a tent and lays the beams of his upper chambers on their waters.
He makes the clouds his chariot and rides on the wings of the wind. He makes winds his messengers, flames of fire his servants. He set the earth on its foundations; …it can never be moved.

I look at all the beautiful photographs and art I see on Facebook and the Web, and I think, “Oh, how beautiful! How lovely! How creative!”

I see photos of mountains and valleys, sunsets and sunrises, kittens and puppies. I admire art drawn or painted by creative minds and skilled hands. I love the photographs and paintings of the full moon and stars, the vast universe or of our earth at peace or as of late, with a hurricane spanning miles across the blue. I marvel at the huge whale waving its tail or dolphins playing in the ocean. All these move my heart and mind to the awe of creation and life.

Somewhere in a place to be seen by all, is the signature or name of the artist or photographer. They sign because they want credit and rightfully so. They sign to differentiate their talent from lesser ability.

When I see a beautiful sunset with the hues of orange and red, violet and rose, and I think, “Oh I could paint that!” Then I realize I could paint that and I can sign my name to it, but God created it from nothing. Even take the science behind a sunset or a rainbow. Even the science behind a beautiful baby or cozy kitten, the depth of the ocean where sea life is mostly a mystery or the dolphin that leaps for joy and still it came from nothing into being by the most creative power ever, Holy Almighty God.

God doesn’t sign his work because there is no one or nothing with greater ability.

I may forget God’s abilities and think my way into a box. I might begin believing I can, but doubt inches its way into my mind. Jesus always meets me where I am and He gently reminds me, He cannot be boxed in.

Therefore, because His Holy Spirit fills me, fills you…neither can we.

Trust Him; be brave and courageous to live the life He has planned for us. We are a child of God. The One who knows you and sees you sets our limits, and He is a mighty and generous God. His plan for our life is better, is best.

Step out of that box you have gotten into and step onto the path He has set for you and no one else. He will never leave you. Whether walking with us or carrying us through. God keeps His promises and has the power and authority to do just that. Let’s remember that the next time we look at a beautiful sunrise, mountain view, or marvel at the miracle of our newborn child or grandchild.

“I will sing to the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.”

**the photograph of the snowflake was taken by my daughter with her cell phone. I can’t help but think if God set things in motion for the details of each snowflake, can’t He be also in the details of our lives?
