A Poem For a Friend

Though I don’t know you or know your pain.

Though my thoughts are of you, they make no change.

Though our walks are different, they are the same.

We can look to one another and lay blame.

We can look to Our Father and feel our shame.

He knows our pain.

His mere thought composes change.

He walks our walk and takes our shame.

He went to the cross and held our blame.

Close your eyes and listen, Jesus is waiting for you.

“I love you.” He says and draws you near.

Comfort and rest He gives.

Stop trying so hard and look to Him.

He asks nothing of you, but to trust in Him.

Give Him your burdens, your worries, and cares.

Let go of the grip you so faithfully keep.

Trust Him. He knows your thoughts. He knows your fears.

He knows the ones that you hold near.

Please, my friend, do not wait.

Trust in Him, His Love is great.
