The Overshadowing Power of Fear

There are so many things going on in the world today, fear is taking a hold. Fear is not of God. God is the God of order. When God created: His power, His sovereignty, displayed for all to see through the ages. When God completed His Creation, He rested. Not because He was tired, but because it was complete. God rested and called it holy.
Difficulties of the present moment overshadow the reality of God’s promise. When we trust in our own efforts we are not adequate. The reality of God’s promise is Christ Jesus, the Messiah. Jesus completed His work and because it is finished, we have been invited to enter His rest, for today and for all eternity. Jesus offers rest from fear, worry, and anxiety.

1 Thessalonians 5:19 Do not put out the Spirit’s fire.

Brothers and sisters in Christ, here lies our challenge as Christians. Not putting out the Holy Spirit’s leading, His prompting, His fire. These are the times, we as Christians are called to be the light and salt. The fear of uncertainty has gripped so many and it is easy to conform to our surroundings. But we are not of this world, though we are in it, we are called to be good citizens and comply with the laws and orders of the government. Yes! Comply, please comply.

The lost are seeking answers. Not knowing the answer is the rest God offers through His Son, Jesus. Through our faith, our determination for obedience to Christ, and our trust that God is the God of kept promises, can we live our lives reflecting our hope in Christ. We know God’s kept promise is our Savior, Lord, and Friend, Jesus.
Our call is greater! Our call is to be “on fire” for our Lord, our God.

The Holy Spirit wants to light a fire inside of every saved person to live a combustible (ignite and spread) and incendiary (to excite) life.

Peace be with you. Be still and know that even today Jesus is still on His throne.

23 May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.

Amen
